During the inspection, Ed photographed and measured the crawl space, taking note of the problem areas.
The crawl space was leaking in water from the porous foundation.
The home was losing energy from the various openings.
Under the vapor barrier, the ground was damp. This was causing mold to grow as well.
For this project, we cleared out the old vapor barriers and insulation to encapsulate the crawl space and leave the space dry and usable. Encapsulation will help retain energy, help insulate, and seal out the draft.
Not all crawl space vapor barriers are created equal. CleanSpace is made of 20 mil thick material, compared to the usual 6 mil. That means better protection and durability.
Encapsulation includes covering the vents, caulking the edges, and sealing the penetrations.
CleanSpace helps keep mold, moisture, and pests out.
Underneath this aesthetically pleasing CleanSpace is a super-effective crawl space drainage system.
Since we want to make sure water would not accumulate under the CleanSpace, we installed 128 feet of drainage piping along the perimeter of the foundation. The piping is perforated to capture leaks with ease.
Our sump pump systems are made with Zoeller cast-iron pumps. We installed this SuperSump Plus, which has two cast-iron pumps in one airtight basket.
SuperSump Plus systems are capable of expelling over 2220 gallons of water per hour from the crawl space if needed!
Along with reducing moisture, the CleanSpace moisture barrier helps reduce humidity, too!
If you have the peanut butter, you need the jelly. Our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier goes hand-in-hand with the CleanSpace Encapsulation System to ensure humidity is low enough to prevent mold.
We completely transformed the once damp space into a clean and healthy one. Best of all, the work is guaranteed.
Linda had recently purchased a home in Bellingham and the crawl space needed a lot of work. As an existing customer, she knew about our systems and the long-term benefits. We were honored to complete another project for her. The crawl space was wet, despite the home being only two years old. Ed Upenieks designed her crawl space solution and our Production crew implemented it.
