Todd contacted Rainy Day to schedule a crawlspace inspection for his home in Oak Harbor, WA. Jean-Paul, our certified expert, conducted a thorough inspection and had a discussion with Todd regarding his requirements. Todd's main concerns were the cleanliness and energy efficiency of the crawlspace. Upon inspection, we discovered moisture, mold, and pest issues underneath the house. To address these problems, we employed our CleanSpace Encapsulation System, which effectively seals the space, preventing the entry of moisture and pests. Additionally, we installed Foamax Insulation along the walls to enhance energy efficiency and maintain a consistent temperature throughout the year. To maintain optimal humidity levels and prevent mold growth, we also installed a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. This device not only reduces humidity but also filters the air, resulting in a cleaner, dry, and pest-free environment. With the crawlspace now sealed and conditioned, Todd now has a healthy and happy home.

Judy W. contacted us through our website for a free inspection and estimate of her basement and crawl space. She told us that water was seeping into her basement between the floor and wall even though there was a sump pump in the crawl space and a new french drain had been installed in the late 1990’s. The water seepage and moisture vapor had to be eliminated to best avoid mold growth, wood rot and other water related damages residential homes are often vulnerable to.
We added drainage trenching along the interior perimeter of the foundation walls to capture the ground water seepage and direct it towards the TripleSafe Sump Pump we installed. We then encapsulated the crawl space in a highly durable lining called CleanSpace. More than three times as thick as a traditional 6 mil. black polyethylene vapor barrier, CleanSpace combines high and low density polyethylene reinforced with polyester cord. The lining greatly reduces moisture and humidity and comes with a 25-year warranty. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX Dehumidifier to further control the moisture.

Tom and Ellen’s home is on a low bank waterfront slope. Gravity, the Washington rain, and unstable clay-like soil were causing the house to sink along the outer foundation. Various areas of the interior floors were also sinking, creating warps and unlevel walking conditions. Additionally, the crawl space was leaking, and dirt was eroding from under the foundation, creating an uncomfortable living area with moisture, water damage, odors, and dust. We installed push piers and SmartJacks to solve the foundation settling issues, and a drainage system to ensure that water damage would no longer occur. CleanSpace encapsulation finished the project, giving the walls, floors, and piers permanent separation from the earth and providing a dry, clean, odor free and healthy environment.

Tom was frustrated with his wet, insect and rodent-infested crawl space in his Oak Harbor, WA home. Despite having an exterior drain installed, the space would always remain damp. That's when we were called in to help. After conducting an inspection of the crawl space, we determined that the best course of action was to install drainage trenching, a new sump pump, and a dehumidifier. This would help to keep the crawl space dry and prevent moisture from accumulating. To further protect the crawl space, we also encapsulated the space using CleanSpace. This is a heavy-duty, waterproof barrier that is designed to keep moisture and pests out of the crawl space. After completing the work, Tom's crawl space was transformed. It was now dry, free of insects and rodents.
George in Oak Harbor was getting seasonal water in his crawl space. It was wet down there most of the year. He had an old vapor barrier, and fallen insulation, and was looking to get everything re-vamped and cleaned up. We sent our inspector, Ryan, out to help and take a look. For his home, we designed a system that included a full clean-out, installing drainage, sump pump, dehumidifier, and encapsulated it with our 20 mil vapor barrier. This system will keep groundwater seepage under control, year round.
Ronnie sought out our help with his problematic crawl space. He had water leaking into the crawl space and wanted a way to drain the area better. Rafael and Helene of Oak Harbor, WA were searching for a solution for the water issues in their unfinished basement. After a visit from our inspector, Ed Upenieks, they decided to move forward with the project. We installed a waterproofing system to address the leakage which included the crew digging drainage trenches, laying in perforated piping, and installing one of our UltraSump pump systems. The water from the basement can now drain safely through a discharge line and out away from the home.

Rafael was having water issues in his Oak Harbor, WA, basement. Often it would leak during heavy rains from the stem wall, and he wanted to find a way to keep it dry. After having a free inspection and quote, we scheduled a time and began implementing the solution. A major leakage zone in any basement is the perimeter where basement walls meet the slab floor. Because of that, we decided to install a DryTrak basement water control system there. The DryTrak is sealed to the basement slab floor with a special epoxy adhesive. We also installed a perforated drain pipe and connected everything to a SuperSump where water can then exit through the discharge line out and away from the home.
The result of this process is a completely dry, reliable basement system that protects the overall value of the home long-term.
