Kathy and Kris live in a farmhouse in Greenbank that was built more than one hundred years ago. They described their crawl space as “wonky” and were worried about the lack of insulation in their floor joists as well as the weathered, and thus ineffective, vapor barrier. They hadn’t seen mold or mildew on the upper floors of their home, but musty odors were becoming a serious concern.

To put these homeowner’s minds at ease, we installed a TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe features three pumps in one, including a battery back-up, to provide the best protection possible. We also encapsulated the crawl space in a highly durable lining called CleanSpace. Being 20 mm thick makes it a very effective vapor barrier, and will significantly reduce the moisture and humidity levels in the space. In addition, CleanSpace is strong enough to be fastened directly to the foundation walls. It won’t ever tear down or shift around, keeping the space clean and the air dry.

These homeowners in Greenbank were ready to fix their home because they were tired of their crawl space leaking. Water and rodents made their way under the home, causing insulation to fall and the vapor barrier to shuffle out of place. We installed our crawl space drainage system, added our SuperSump Plus, and encapsulated using CleanSpace. Once finished, the space was totally sealed and dry.

Crawl Space Vapor Barrier in Greenbank, WA

Kathy and Kris live in a farmhouse in Greenbank that was built over one hundred years ago. Their crawl space was lacking insulation in the floor joists, the vapor barrier was well weathered and proving to be ineffective. They were becoming more concerned about their “wonky” crawl space, as they were starting to notice musty odors throughout all levels of their home.

Kathy and Kris opted for the best sump pump around, the TripleSafe. The TripleSafe provides homeowners the most protection by incorporating three pumps in one, including a battery backup system made specifically for worst-case scenarios, like a power outage. We then used our extremely durable CleanSpace Crawl Space Lining to encapsulate the space. Because the lining is 20 mm thick, it is much more effective at reducing moisture and humidity levels than the minimum requirement 6 mils. barriers. In addition, CleanSpace is strong enough to be fastened directly to the foundation walls. It won’t ever tear down or shift around, keeping the space clean and the air dry. Kathy and Kris can be sure that damaging moisture vapors and musty odors are a thing of their past.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Greenbank, WA

Barry and Constance own a manufactured home with a permanent foundation. Recently, a pipe broke in their crawl space and made a great mess of the blown insulation and of the space in general. They hired someone to remove the previous insulation and the road barrier and were looking for new possibilities with their crawl space. Barry had heard about Rainy Day Basement Systems and their crawl space encapsulation system, he was drawn to the fact that with the system he would not have to re-install new insulation.

Instead, Rainy Day was able to isolate Barry and Constance’s crawl space, leaving no reason for insulation. Using CleanSpace, an antimicrobial lining, they were able to separate the space, and ultimately the home, completely from the earth below. This greatly reduces moisture from entering the space and the opportunity mold and mildew growth. To further the control of moisture, a SaniDry CX dehumidifier equipped with automatic drain was installed. Finally, an EverLast CrawlSpace Door was added to finish off encapsulation process. The EverLast doors are made of durable inorganic material, they are waterproof, resistant to mold and have a heavy weather seal strip to effectively seal off outside air.

Barry and Constance now have a moisture-free crawl space they won’t have to worry about and Rainy day is pleased to have been a part of their positive outcome.

The previous homeowners neglected to address a rodent issue in our crawl space. Pest control has resolved the mouse issue but now there is a noticeable smell of mouse poop coming from the crawl space. I'd appreciate a quote to have the crawl space thoroughly cleaned. We are also interested in converting the vented crawl space into an encapsulated space. I would appreciate your professional opinion and help. Thank you for your time.

Insulation coming down, water, pests

100+ year old farmhouse with icky critters and their mess in a non insulated, wonky crawlspace. The "vapor barrier" has been eaten or icked up- needs to be removed. Don't believe there is an all over moisture problem, but there is a sump pump which clears out a singular spot where water does collect. Would be interested in antimicrobial vapor barrier and foam core insulation on the foundation. At least there's no old insulation under the house to deal with. Looking for a bid for cleaning/sanitizing rodent mess, installing vapor barrier and foamcore.
