Don and Terry W. moved into their Blaine home in October of last year. During the wet winter, they noticed that the carpet and walls of their newly finished daylight basement were getting damp. In addition, mold had begun growing on the floors supporting their concrete garage floors and guest house floors above. Concerned about preserving the quality of their new home and their overall health, they knew a solution had to be found.
We encapsulated thier crawl space with CleanSpace lining. We also installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier and a TripleSafe Sump Pump to remove all the moisture.
Living in her Blaine, WA home for less than a year, Julia wanted to invest into making the home more practical and valuable. She was also tired of having cold floors, a persistent problem for her. She said the most important thing for her when choosing a company to fix her home was trust and decided Rainy Day was a good fit. CleanSpace is our crawlspace encapsulation system that we installed to finally give Julia the comfort she was searching for. A major bonus for her was the pest prevention that often comes secondhand with encapsulation. She had also been experiencing rodent problems prior to the project, but now that the area is sealed, pest entrance is far less likely. Now that our work is done, she can enjoy warm floors in the winter, and cool floors in the summer.
Linda noticed sinking in her home in Blaine. When our inspector, Jean-Paul came out to take a look, we found lots of groundwater and mold. Changes in the soil beneath the foundation was causing the sinking of the home. Linda didn't want to go another winter with the problem. We installed new drainage trenching and encapsulated her crawl space with our CleanSpace system. CleanSpace will block moisture from evaporating and hinder mold growth under her home for good.

Homeowners in Blaine were having problems with moisture and rodents in their very large crawl space. After living in the home for 13 years, it was finally time for them to find a solution that would protect the home. We installed our crawl space drain and sump pump, then sealed the space with a 20 mil thick vapor barrier. Now the space will stay clean and dry without pests coming in.
After her basement flooded in the fall, Rebecca knew she was ready to resolve any issues that would allow flooding to happen in the future. She had water coming from the floor in her Blaine home and had already removed some flooring and drywall. We installed our WaterGuard drainage system to address the flooding for good. The system will capture leaks from here on out and discharge them safely through the TripleSafe sump pump system to keep everything dry.

Pramod wanted to deal with the mold under his Blaine, WA, rental unit. He knew that getting rid of the water would take care of most of the mold issue, so he contacted Rainy Day to propose a solution for this concerned homeowner. For this project, we went to the home and installed new drainage near the exterior walls and footings. The drainage will direct water to the TripleSafe sump pump system where the water will be pumped and escape through a discrete LawnScape Outlet away from the home into back-fill areas. The result is a dry crawl space that hinders the persistent mold growth Pramod was experiencing.

Dave had been living in his Blaine, WA home for ten plus years. He heard about Rainy Day online after comparing various contractors and decided we were the best fit for the project. His main issues were groundwater seepage, mold, and powder post beetles. All of these can wreak havoc on wood and cause costly damage in homes. To ensure dryness, we implemented a brand new waterproofing system. We removed all debris and laid down drainage matting and piping. We then used CleanSpace to seal everything off. Dave was pleasantly surprised when he came home after the project and there was no longer a strong musty odor.

Julia was experiencing excessively cold air in the crawl space of her home in Blaine. Insufficiently insulated crawl spaces can make the rest of the air in the home cold and drafty. We wanted to implement a new solution that would keep the home warm and save money on energy too. The crawl space was completely encapsulated in CleanSpace, isolating the home from the earth and sealing it from any moisture. We put in vent covers and installed the Water Watch Alarm system to alert in event of a leak. Finally, we added a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier which will keep the air at the perfect humidity throughout the home. From now on, Julia will enjoy a warmer living space and breathe easy.

Connie and Rich had lived in their Blaine home for 25 years, and for the entirety their residency, their basement would flood when it rained. They were retired and planning on selling the house because it was just too big now. However, their realtor informed them that the state of the basement was going to bring down the value of the home as well as make it harder to sell. They contacted Rainy Day Basement Systems to help solve the problem so they wouldn’t have to worry about losing money from selling their home.
Rainy Day installed a WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system which is designed to capture water seeping through the wall/floor junction and it won’t clog with silt or plant roots. The water is carried to the SuperSump pump which has a cast iron pump and airtight lid and floor drain. The pump also includes a WaterWatch alarm system which alerts the homeowner in the event of a leak. The water is drained from the pump out of the LawnScape outlet, a buried exterior drainage line that transmits it a safe distance away from the home. Finally, an IceGuard was fitted to the discharge line to prevent it from freezing and causing flooding.
Connie and Rich were able to get their basement into a clean and dry condition, giving them confidence that their house will now sell on the market for what it is worth.
