Kelly called us because she was looking for a general inspection of her crawl space. She knew she wanted to get it cleaned out and a vapor barrier, but was unsure of what was needed. Ryan Adams took care of inspecting the crawl space and proposing a solution. For her project, we addressed moisture under the home with perforated piping along the perimeter in the crawl space. We installed two of our TripleSafe sump pumps to prevent leaks and floods in the two main areas of the crawl space and connected them to two seperate discharge lines to go out through to backfill areas away from the yard to drain. We covered the crawl space in a 6 mil black poly vapor barrier. With the major drainage issues addressed, the home was good to go.

After removing some of the water, we sent out Ryan Adams to design a solution. He recommended installing an interior drainage channel along the perimeter to collect water. The tag was living in his Mount Vernon, WA, home for about five years, and his crawl space sump pump stopped working. Water continued to leak into the crawl space despite the faulty sump pump. He called Rainy Day, and we set up a plan to solve his problem. We replaced the existing sump with our SuperSump. Our pump is designed with an airtight lid, so it won't clog with debris or pests and becomes safer. The perforations in the liner capture groundwater and connect to the interior drainage system where the water can get drained away from the home. The result of our installation was a dry, efficient crawl space waterproofing system for years to come.

Gloria of Mount Vernon, WA first heard about Rainy Day Basement Systems from the NW Clipper and contacted us to inspect her crawl space. Gloria, like many busy homeowners, rarely went under her home to look at it, but she figured it was in need of a clean-out. During the initial inspection, Jean-Paul noted seeing a lot of water in the crawl space which was wreaking havoc under her home.
We devised a plan and shortly after began the project. We started with laying down piping and digging trenches to control the excess water coming in. We then performed a flood test to ensure proper flow to the sump pump location. The crawl space was then encapsulated with CleanSpace, an antimicrobial crawl space liner, and a SaniDry Sedona was added to keep the humidity low.
Rainy Day is pleased that it was able to deliver the quality of products and services that Gloria expected.

Amanda and Kurtis contacted Rainy Day after the pest control inspector noted water in the crawl space of their Mount Vernon home. They needed to have a clean-out of the area and drainage system put in. We began by digging a shallow trench about a foot away from the footings to avoid undermining. Once piping was in place, a flood test was preformed to ensure proper flow to the low spot of the sump location. The homeowners decided to add the TripleSafe pump system in order to make the crawl space stay dry and protected. All water will now discharge discretely through the LawnScape Outlet away from the yard.

Frank and Debbie C. lived in their Mount Vernon home for 13 years. Their crawl space was not particularly wet, however, it was humid and very dirty. In the summers the space would fill with humid sticky air and during the winters, they dealt with cold floors underneath their feet. After seeing our ad in The Clipper, they knew Rainy Day Basement Systems had the solution they were looking for.
To prevent moisture from seeping into Frank and Debbie’s crawl space the entire space was encapsulated in CleanSpace. CleanSpace is a heavy-duty antimicrobial lining that isolates the house completely from the ground below. To enhance the encapsulation, all twelve crawl space vents were sealed with our Masonary Wall Vents. Finally, an EverLast Crawl Space Door was installed. The door is made of completely inorganic materials, it’s waterproof and prevents the growth of mold and mildew. It has a weather-strip on the back and uses screws to close to offer the most effective seal. For further moisture protection, a SaniDry CX Air System was installed. The dehumidifier is fully automatic and can remove up to 13 gallons of water a day. Frank and Debbie now have a clean space to keep their storage and won’t have to worry about any moisture damaging their belongings.
