Crawl Space
This was the crawl space during our inspection.
Old Vapor Barrier
The homeowner wanted to replace the insulation, vapor barrier, and prevent rodents.
Time
They lived in the home for over 20 years and knew it was time for a change under their home.
Crawl Space Problems
Despite rarely going into their crawl space, their goal was to fix it once and prevent issues now and in the future.
Debris Removal
For the start of the project, we removed all loose debris and organic materials.
Crawl Space Cleanout
Before laying in the new liner and system, the crew rakes out the ground and evens everything out.
Cleaning Process
The process gives us a nice base to be able to start encapsulating or putting in drainage for more damp crawl spaces.
Crawl Space Vapor Barrier
We installed 1896 square feet of our CleanSpace liner.
CleanSpace
Unlike most vapor barriers, our liner is sealed, taped, caulked, and fastened to all accessible dirt floors and walls.
Encapsulation
Crawl space encapsulation fully isolates the home from the earth below, thus preventing intrusion from pests and moisture.
CleanSpace Liner
Our liner is 20 mils thick, so it can resist punctures and tears.
Vapor Barrier
Not all vapor barriers are created equally. Most vapor barriers are only 6 mil thick and lay loosely above the ground.
Antimicrobial
An encapsulated crawl space helps keep mold and musty odors out.
Crawl Space Air
Not only is the new system energy efficient, it can help reduce drafty floors and create healthy air for the whole house.
