Rainy Day Basement Systems Case Studies: TripleSafe Sump Pump Installed in Edmonds Home
Challenge
Julaine T. lived in her Edmonds home for five years, all the while, her crawl space was leaking water. She had already had her sump pump replaced once while living there and that time had come again. She was ultimately concerned with the long-term complications that moisture can have inside a crawl space; such as mold, wood rot or even a sinking foundation.
Solution
To prevent future sump pump complications, Rainy Day installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe pump has three times the protection including two water outlets, two pumps processing up to an impressive 6,200 gallons per hour and a battery backup system for worst case scenarios.
An IceGuard was added to release water from a frozen or blocked sump pump discharge line. The water will be able to escape even if the pipe outlet is completely buried by ice and snow, allowing the sump pump to keep the crawl space dry. Once the discharge line defrosts, the water will automatically run back through its normal route, and no water will escape from the IceGuard.
All of the water pumped through the TripleSafe sump pump and the IceGuard flows out of the LawnScape outlet. The outlet is a buried discharge line that runs the water a safe distance away from the home preventing ground water seepage. To further assist in the prevention of seepage, Julaine’s crawl space was encapsulated in a protective 6 mil. black vapor barrier.
Rainy Day is happy they could be a part of Julaine’s crawl space solution.
