Crawl Space - Before Encapsulation

Signs of Moisture
Vented crawl spaces are problematic due to their open design, which allows warm, humid air to enter and condense on cooler surfaces, fostering mold and mildew growth that can damage the structure and pose health risks.
Humid Crawl Space
Vented crawl spaces are susceptible to significant humidity fluctuations, especially in climates with varying seasons like the Pacific Northwest. These fluctuations can cause wood to expand and contract, leading to warping, cracking, and potential structural failure.
Moldy Crawl Space
The moisture in the crawl space can often lead to mold growth, as seen here. The mold was creating the musty smell that Darrel was noticing in the levels above in the home.
Unsealed Crawl Space Problems
Vented crawl spaces contribute to energy inefficiency in homes. The uncontrolled airflow through the vents allows for heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer, making it more difficult to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature and increasing energy costs.

Encapsulation
Our CleanSpace Encapsulation System acts as a barrier between the conditioned living space and the unconditioned crawl space.
Pest Prevention
Since open vents in crawl spaces provide easy access for pests, such as rodents, insects, and spiders, encapsulation seals off these entry points, preventing pests from entering and causing damage or spreading diseases.
Humidity Control
This SaniDry Sedona includes a MERV-8 filter that removes mold spores, dust mites, and other airborne particles, improving indoor air quality.
SmartDrain
Any leaks that happen above the CleanSpace will sound the alarm on this SmartDrain to notify the homeowner, and capture the leaks.
