The work done by a previous contractor allowed water to leak in.
Posts were not properly sealed, leaving them vulnerable to moisture.
For two years, the crawl space area would leak during heavy rains.
It was clear the home needed repairs to the vapor barrier and better drainage for the leaks.
We repaired and replaced 1478 square feet of CleanSpace in this crawl space.
Under the CleanSpace, we installed drainage piping and drainage matting to help with the leak problem.
Our drainage systems pair wonderfully with CleanSpace encapsulation because the drainage captures water in perforated piping, and the CleanSpace seals out moisture.
We wrapped the pier pads in CleanSpace. CleanSpace, when properly installed, prevents the posts from rotting. The posts are supposed to be caulked, taped, and fastened without any penetrations.
To further prevent mold and high humidity, we sealed the vents so no outside air can enter.
We installed our SuperSump pump system. SuperSump is an airtight basket with a highly reliable cast-iron pump.
On the outside of the home, we installed an IceGuard to protect the discharge line from freezing and flooding.
This encapsulated crawl space had work done before by another company. The system was installed before the current homeowners moved in. Unfortunately, there was a drainage problem still that was allowing water to leak in. Ed Upenieks from Rainy Day's System Design team went out for a free inspection. We created a plan to solve their wet crawl space issues for good, and repair the existing system.
