Rainy Day Basement Systems Case Studies: BrightWall Paneling Preserves Basement Walls in Custer Home
Challenge
Dolores V. lived in her home 40 years before her basement started to leak water right through the wall during Winter and heavy rains. At one point a whopping 80 gallons of water had made its way in there. She contacted Rainy Day Basement Systems because she became very concerned about further water damage to the house and items she that she kept stored in her basement.
Solution
To prevent water from seeping into Dolores’s basement, Rainy Day installed a WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system to lead all water to the sump pump before it reaches the basement and with its unique design the system will never clog. A WaterGuard Inspection Port was also added for easy access to the system.
A SuperSump Pump System was installed which includes a cast iron pump, liner, and airtight lid and floor drain to keep the humidity as low as possible. They also added an UltraSump battery back-up pumping system for worst case scenarios. A LawnScape outlet, a buried exterior discharge line, will lead all unwanted water to a safe distance away from the house. Finally, BrightWall paneling was added. The BrightWall system incorporates semi-firm white plastic panels and plastic fasteners to join the panels together and attach them to the foundation wall. These panels also direct wall seepage to the perimeter where the WaterGuard drain lines will lead that water to the sump pump.
