Rainy Day Basement Systems Case Studies: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Mount Vernon, WA
Challenge
Barbara from Mount Vernon, WA was excited when she found out Rainy Day was close by. Her family had moved to Washington and their last home used a CleanSpace encapsulation system that they loved because it helped keep their home cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Jean-Paul inspected the home and designed a plan to waterproof and encapsulate her new home.
Solution
We began the project by removing all debris and cleaning out the crawl space. It is important to ensure the moisture is under control, which we did by putting in a TripleSafe sump pump and connected it to the discharge line. We added an IceGuard on outside on the line to prevent freezing. Once complete, we then encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace. The final touch was installing the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, something that Barbara did not have in her last crawl space system. Humidity in Washington is fairly high on average and the dehumidifier will just help to maintain the air quality to the perfect level at all times.
