Crawl Space Repair Case Studies: Crawl Space Waterproofing in Everett
Challenge
Annie and Cal J. contacted Rainy Day Basement Systems because they were confused as to why they were having so many issues with humidity in their home. They had a finished basement, a french drain in place and a dehumidifier that they emptied on a regular basis in the summer. Yet still, they found their basement more humid than it should be. Rainy Day concluded that moisture was still seeping into their finished basement through their crawl space.
Solution
This was happening because when they finished their basement, the builder used a type of sealant to seal moisture out. But this sealant can erode, and is meant for a short-term solution rather than a long-term one. Fortunately, Rainy Day has a highly durable waterproof crawl space lining that can prevent moisture seepage. Annie and Cal’s crawl space was completely encapsulated in CleanSpace, not only is the lining waterproof, it is made of 100% inorganic material and cannot support the growth of mold or mildew.
The CleanSpace lining will effectively channel any moisture seepage it collects to their newly installed SmartPipe drainage system. The SmartPipe system is highly efficient because it absorbs water from the soil as well as from the walls. It can do so because it has special spacers on the back that keep it separated from the wall ever so slightly. It also has large holes covered with a filter fabric to accept water from the ground without the dirt and silt.
Their dehumidifier was replaced with our SaniDry CX Air System. The SaniDry is a completely automated system that can remove 13 gallons of water a day without any requirements or obligations from the homeowner. All of the captured water is then pumped through their TripleSafe Sump Pump and out of the LawnScape Outlet.
Annie and Cal can now enjoy a dry basement and crawl space without having to empty anything at all!
